Celebrating The World's First Female Master Blender at Stack World

Dr. Joy Spence made history in 1997 by becoming the world’s first female Master Blender at Appleton Estate rum.  The brand wanted our help in creating awareness and social reach by telling Joy’s inspirational story to a female, cocktail loving audience here in the UK. Enter Sharmadean Reid and The Stackworld. Stackworld is the ultimate destination for meaningful connections with mission-driven women via an app and live events.

We organised an unforgettable event, uniting two trailblazing women: Stack World CEO Sharmadean Reid MBE, a British Jamaican entrepreneur, and Master Blender Joy Spence. They shared their experience with Stack World members and influencers at the exclusive One Warwick members club in Soho. The brand showcased their premium rum cocktails at an Appleton Estate rum bar, hosted by the Brand Ambassador and social media rum expert, The Rum Boss.

To broaden reach beyond the live event the interview was captured on film and is available on The Stack World App – ‘Club Jamaica’ video library for members to enjoy. Additionally the interview is featured on the ‘Executive Realness’ Podcast hosted by Sharmadean streaming on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The event, the podcast and rum cocktail ‘ were shared across Stackworld and their members’ social media. 

Social content created by The Stackworld was shared with their highly engaged audience across their social media platforms, website, and blog, generating reach and engagement. User-generated content (UGC) was also cultivated and shared by influencers and guests, further amplifying the brand’s presence and interaction within the community.

Through this strong partnership, and aligned values, we were able to curate an experience that deeply connected with the Stackworld audience, meeting them in a female empowered ‘live discussion’ space they know well. We crafted a customised, genuine, and unforgettable experience with the brand’s Master Blender and Stackworld’s CEO. This yielded remarkable success, amplifying awareness and reach for Appleton Estate rum within an authentic and women driven community. It firmly established Appleton Estate Rum as a top choice for cocktails with Stackworld’s audience. This resulted in them publishing inspiring social content like ‘how to elevate your supper clubs’ in which they included the brand. The collaboration continued with the brand becoming a sponsor of the annual Stackworld Women and Power summit, allowing guests to sample Appleton Estate signature serves and learn about the rum.
